Everyone is welcome to join in our Adult Sunday School in the council room at 11:00 this morning as we continue to study, Christian Faith in Focus by Gordon Spykman. We have discussed the nature of religion, general revelation, and special revelation. Today we’ll discuss the inspiration of the scriptures and how they came to be. Reading preparation is just a few pages and a short Bible passage. It doesn’t require any theological expertise – just an interest in learning and discussing with others. Materials can be acquired from the church office or from the information center.

Care Groups 1A (Van Maanen/Van Roekel/Kroeze) & 1B (Nibbelink/Byars/Nibbelink) will gather on Sunday, November 2 at 7 PM in the upper level of our ministry building. Guests and college students are welcome!

Please come to our annual CONGREGATIONAL SUPPER on November 3 at 6 PM in our Fellowship Hall hosted by our youth group as a fundraiser for them. We are having an Italian themed night and will be serving lasagna, fettuccine, Olive Garden salad, breadsticks, gelato, tiramisu, and Italian Sodas. Please sign up by Oct 31 at the information center if you plan to attend.

Don’t miss our Wednesday night meal this week! Our menu includes: Super nachos, Spanish rice, fruit salad, and ice cream sundaes. Serving is from 5-6:30pm. A suggested donation of $3/person or $12/family is appreciated.

This material is similar to what our 12th graders often study in catechism and was requested by some of our members. Justice For All: Anyone willing to help at JFA this Tuesday morning is welcome to meet in the upper parking lot to carpool from First Church.

All women high school age and up are invited to come to pray for each other and for the cares and concerns of our church. We will specifically be praying for Care Group 2A.

There are concerning trends rising in our culture today, some of which we need only to watch and pray over, and some of which we must, as Christians, work together to combat in order to conserve our Christian values. The film “Truth Rising” addresses many of these topics. Please join others in our congregation as we view the first half of this film in church on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and the second half on Wednesday, Nov. 19, both following the church meal at 6:30pm.

Fall Cleanup has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 15. If you need yard work done around your home, please sign up at the information center or talk to a deacon. If you would like to contribute your time and labor to help your neighbor with clean-up, sign up as well. This year the deacons will be getting help from our Cadets as a fundraiser for the First CRC Cadet Club. If you don't normally sign up for Fall Cleanup but have some extra work that needs to be done, sign up and please consider a free will donation to support this year's club activities including the International Camporee in Longview, Alberta, CAN.
