The CALL of Christ to a life of FAITH is not always soft and tender. It's a SUBVERSIVE CALL that calls for a BOLD WITNESS in this world. DEFIANT FAITH, as we see it in the life of Moses, will DISAGREE with the powers of this world, but it is NOT DISAGREEABLE. With GENTLENESS and REVERENCE (1 Peter 3:14-16) we can be subversively defiant. From the example of Moses and other OT saints, we are encouraged to PRESS ON in a faith that WORSHIPS God, WALKS with God and WITNESSES for God in this world. In the end WE WIN, not because of what we do, but because of what Christ HAS DONE FOR US.
