Dr. John B. Hulst served as pastor in three Christian Reformed Churches before accepting an appointment to Dordt College in 1968. He served at Dordt for 28 years, his last 14 years as college President. Since retirement in 1996, Dr. Hulst Hulst has continued working for the cause of Christian higher education. He is Senior Advisor to the International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education (IAPCHE), a Senior Fellow of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) in Washington DC, and Chair of the Board of the Institute for Christian Studies (ICS) in Toronto ON. Dr. Hulst and his wife Louise have three children and seven grandchildren.
Dr. Wayne Kobes

Our Associate Pastor, Dr. Wayne Kobes has been a Professor of Theology at Dordt College since 1973. He has also been the Theology Department Chair since 1982. Dr. Kobes attended Dordt College, Calvin Theological Seminary, and Florida State University where he received his PH.D. in 1993. Wayne and his wife Helen have 4 children.
Dr. Carl E. Zylstra
Associate Pastor
Dr. Carl Zylstra served as pastor in two Christian Reformed Churches before accepting his current appointment as President of Dordt College in 1996. Dr. Zylstra's background includes leadership roles on the boards of several educational institutions and church agencies. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Iowa College Foundation, and a member of the CEO Council of the Barnabas Foundation. He has also served as Vice President of the Board of World Ministries of the Christian Reformed Church and President of Christian Reformed World Missions. Dr. Zylstra and his wife Gloria have three sons.
